Overview
As a stepping stone towards the UN Ocean Conference, the UN Global Compact, together with UN partners, will convene a High-Level Meeting on Sustainable Ocean Business and the 2030 Agenda. Senior executives from business, academia, civil society, the United Nations and Governments will be invited to participate in a multi-stakeholder dialogue on the role of businesses and governments to ensure a more healthy and productive ocean by 2030. The meeting will be held online on 2 June from 9:00-10:45 EDT.
The Ocean Stewardship 2030 will be released by the UN Global Compact on 26 May, one week prior to the meeting. The report provides a roadmap, for governments and businesses, on the role of the ocean for the world to recover better and deliver the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. By keeping essential trade moving between nations, and providing sustainable energy and healthy food for all, the ocean will undoubtedly play an essential role in this process of recovery and rebuilding.
