Description
  • Action undertaken :

The objective of SIENA INGENIERIE is to advise and assist the Major Property Owners or Managers about technical and environmental problems.

Therefore, SIENA INGENIERIE is commonly carrying out audits and diagnosis but is also introducing and making aware his customers of their responsabilities about :

    - Health : how to improve the living conditions in buildings

    - Environment : how to reduce the negative impacts of buildings on the

    environment.

Thus, SIENA INGENIERIE undertook communication actions and conceived a Property Management tool called « Building Health Record ».

The different subjects dealt with in the “Building Health Record” are as follow :

    - Asbestos

    - Lead in paintworks

    - Parasites

    - Water quality

    - Legionella

    - ICPE (listed installations for environment protection)

    - Diverse polluting agents

    - Ground

    - Flooding areas / PPRI (preventive measures against flooding risks)

    - Ground pollution

With this “Building Health Record”, comprising a schedule, the Property Owners have the means of :

    - respecting the regulations

    - improving the living and working conditions in their buildings

The reasoning of SIENA INGENIERIE is part of a general progress objective for human beings in order to consider health and environment aspects rather prior than after operations.RESULT :

Following the communication actions undertaken with various major Property Owners or Managers, several have chosen the principle of keeping a “Building Health Record”.

Also in different cases, the outcome of this approach allowed to solve important health problems in particular about the quality of the water supplied by inner pipes.

    Example

The warm water system of a housing unit had an important legionella contamination despite a satisfactory temperature.

The diagnosis of the installation permitted to identify the technical causes for the presence of the bacteria and the reasons of their resistance.

Once the recommended works had been undertaken, the contamination vanished and the occupants could use the sanitary installations without any health hazard.

Following this case, the property owner decided to undertake a preventive diagnosis of all his housing units.
