  • Dear Sir/ Madam,

    We are the member of United Nations Global Compact since 9th September 2010 and holding a participant ID 12361.In continuation with our letter of commitment, we reconfirm that our organization has been encouraging the 10 principles as they are set by the Global Compact while carrying out our business activities. We had been emphasizing to adopt core values, in the areas defined by Global Compact, within our scope of influence. Furthermore, we are also working out more plans to implement most of the 10 principles which come under our business field.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • At Progressive Group, the business is operated under the vision of Fair and Friendly Business. The Management is firmly committed to ensure that no violation of human rights occur while performing business practices. We have a defined code of conduct which deals with the misconduct and harassment at workplace.
    The company has defined values which are directly influential on human rights

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • The company has established Human Resource division which works with an open door policy that every employee can approach them in case he/she has been dealt against the code of conduct. The HR office then handle the grievances and also raise explanation call or proper inquiry report as and when needed.

    All employees are working at PT with free will and all human rights are respected at PG with full implementation.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • Due to the very firm ethical boundaries set by the Board of Directors, the employees including the senior management is must is to work under defined values. Therefore no such action is needed until now. However if any case is referred to us by Labor court, that has been handled with mutual consent of all parties.

Labour

  • The company is trying to fulfill all the requirements as declared by ILO, uptill now we have implemented some of them and working on remaining as well.

    We operate under the human rights law of free will. No practice of forces or compulsory labor is part of our business practice. The company ensures at maximum possible level that no child labor works at our premises.

    We are open to recruit all the surrounding community without any discrimination with respect to employment and occupation. Any one who fulfills the merit and legal requirements, is open to be hired.

    we have plans for expansion with diverse production capacities then will hire more people. The objective of generating more employment opportunities would also be attended this way.

  • Implementation

  • The company always ensure to pay all wages as regulated by the Government. The company ensure social security of all workers to benefit them with the basic needs of health. Their rights are protected under the law of Pakistan and are respected at our premises as well. Basic Human rights are very much respected and implemented at every level of HR deployment within the organization.

  • The company ensure no violation occur, however now company is heading to put the system of external audits for ensuring maximum implementation of all rights as defined by UNGC.

Environment

  • The company has clearly defined quality objectives that we do not produce or deal with any product which directly or indirectly injurious to health or the over all environment.

    We also not use any such technology which by any chance is harmful to the environment.

    For maintaining a healthy environment, we have done plantation at our premises also we use water filtering equipment. The plantation helps in greenery as well as we produce totally organic vegetables for healthy diet.

  • Implementation

  • The employees are aware of the fact that company does not deal with hazardous material within the premises. PT also emphasizes on value chain partners to maintain environment friendly practices. Company ensures that paper is not misused and also look for the means to recycle the materials wherever possible.

  • The company has made commitment to put a complete fire prevention system at premises

Anti-Corruption

  • The company ensures at the highest level of understanding that no bribery would be part of any business practices at PT.
    For employees, the company has a zero tolerance if any one is found guilty of such act, cannot work at PT any more.

  • Implementation

  • The company's senior management has a open door policy and any such act can be reported to them easily.

  • The company is heading to maintain any such external audit system. However as of now, the internal audit also paying such duties.
