    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that AidCom reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • In accordance with the principles, 1 and 2 of the UN Global compact our goal is to support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights and make sure we are not complicit in any human right abuses.

    Being an SME we do not have any operational measures (e.g. code of conduct) implemented for preventing human rights violations as we assessed this to be a minor risk in our operations.

    We are highly aware of the topic and its relevance and have a policy to conduct our business in support and respect to protect human rights, due to both corporate culture and employees personally engagement in society.

  • Implementation

  • To prevent human right violations in its work locations AidCom have:
    - An elected employee representative where any complaints can be addressed if needed. These complaints will go to the top management for discussions immediately.
    - Awareness raising about human rights issues

  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • We have no reported complaints of human rights violations the past year.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • AidCom is following the labor principles as stated by the UN Global Compact.

    We conduct our business in accordance with Norwegian law, also when operating in other countries. The business is mindful of labour- related risks and the well-being of our employees is always a high priority.

    In our assessment of labour-related risks, we have evaluated that the highest risk is amongst our employees working outside Norway. It is a high priority within the company to minimized these risks and develop routines for responses.

    AidCom operates in accordance with a non-discrimination policy.

  • Implementation

  • - Implementation of contact person for all employees but with special focus on employees operating abroad. Close follow-up and extra training for employees stationed outside Norway.
    - Awarness raising for employees on labour rights and policies.
    - Travel insurance provided for employees on travel.
    - AidCom employees are free to join any labour unions and/or organizations.
    - Flat strucuture within the company with low threshold for raising issues or concerns.

  • We have a 100% compliance of approved working contracts.

    We have through evaluation reports achieved high satisfaction amongst our employees.

    Our company is nearly equally divided between women and men where 1/3 of our employees are Non-Norwegian citizens.

Environment

  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • As the principles 7, 8 and 9 state in the UN Global Compact, we are highly aware of the environmental challenges.

    We have assessed that we do not have any major environmental affect directly through our operations, but we strive to undertake initiatives to improve out environmental impact in our work environment.

  • In its working environment AidCom,
    - When evaluated as possible, have e.g Skype meetings to reduce transportation effects on the environment.
    - Have implemented initiatives to reduce waste management by recycling.

  • No measurements of outcomes is applicable at this point.

Anti-Corruption

  • AidCom comply with all relevant laws, including anti-corruption laws and have a zero-tolerance of corruption, bribery and extortion.

    Being an SME we operate with high transparency.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement anti-corruption policies, address anti-corruption risks and respond to incidents.

  • No formal measures are in place but the issue is taken into account by the general management in it its daily business of running the company.

  • We have no reported incidents of violation on the company’s no-corruption policy the past year.
