  • Pure Essentials Specialist Corp. continues to support the principles of the UN Global Compact which are reflected in our daily way of working towards customers, business partners, suppliers, and our employees. While we are a startup and small social enterprise, our policies and programs are still work-in-progress, continuously adapting to changes in business climate conditions in the Philippines. Consequently, we have limited in processes/systems; however, everyone in the organization as well as our stakeholders are committed to our advocacies of environment protection and support for the Philippine agriculture industry.

Human Rights

    Our Commitment or Policy
    Pure Essentials Specialist Corp. supports the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. These include the guidelines and restrictions on the use of force, training and ensuring that the equipment and facilities are not misused.

    PRINCIPLE 2 BUSINESS SHOULD ENSURE THAT THEY ARE NOT COMPLICIT IN HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES

    All these topics are part of the Labor Code of the Philippines. See also Principle 1 as these two principles are inter-related in our small enterprise.

Labour

  • PRINCIPLE 3 BUSINESS SHOULD UPHOLD THE FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION AND THE EFFECTIVE RECOGNITION OF THE RIGHT TO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING

    This Principle is not applicable to our organization as we only have 4 employees, plus my business partner & I, for a total manpower count of 6. Seen the fact that we are a group of less than 30 employees, there is open communication in our small organization.

    PRINCIPLE 4 BUSINESS SHOULD SUPPORT THE ELIMINATION OF ALL FORMS OF FORCED AND COMPULSARY LABOR
    Our Commitment or Policy
    Forced and compulsory labor are not applicable, and we abide by the Labor Code of the Philippines. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, and our offices are closed on weekends and holidays. It is a case-to-case basis and only due to customer peak demand when employees are asked to render overtime or come in on a holiday. Should this happen, we follow the labor guidelines on overtime pay and holiday pay.

    PRINCIPLE 5 BUSINESSS SHOULD SUPPORT THE EFFECTIVE ABOLITION OF CHILD LABOUR

    This is connected to Principle #4, and we do not have any employees below the age of 18. The average age of our employees is 40 (after university degree). We also encourage and implement programs to hire semi-skilled or part-time employees and provide training on the job, as needed; and the minimum age is 18 years old.

    PRINCIPLE 6 BUSINESS SHOULD SUPPORT THE ELIMINATION DISCRIMINATION IN RESPECT OF EMPLOYMENT AND OCCUPATION

    Pure Essentials Specialist Corp. employs based on job requirements and does not discriminate on ground of age, ethnic or social origin, gender, sexual orientation, politics, or religion.

    Next to the launch of the above-mentioned labor policies we will release an update of our company Code of Conduct/Rules and Regulations documentation, what we consider as an important process in our organization. Also, in the process is to establish Company Core Values, to include ‘Integrity and Ethical conduct’.

    For trainees or part-time employees, we respect the minimum age as stated in the Labor Code of the Philippines (minimum age 18 years). To date, we have not yet hired any part-time employee, but are systems support this, should the need arise in the future.

    Although we operate on a small scale for environment operations, we find compliance with all environmental law and regulations critical, not only as for the results of our own activities but also in the selection process of our suppliers.

    PRINCIPLE 8 BUSINESS SHOULD UNDERTAKE INITIATIVES TO PROMOTE GREATER ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
    Our Commitment or Policy
    The purpose of our organization and one of our advocacies is environment protection. The nature of the products that we distribute are environmental-friendly through our natural home cleaners and natural skincare products for men and women. We use plant-based ingredients and thus, making our products biodegradable, and supports the Philippine agriculture industry.

    PRINCIPLE 9 BUSINESS SHOULD ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT AND DIFFUSION OF ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TECHNOLOGIES
    Our Commitment or Policy
    Pure Essentials Specialist Corp.’s natural skincare line is approved by the local Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in the Philippines. The company has been invited to a membership to the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines (CCIP). We intend to learn more about what are the available and latest environmentally friendly technologies in our industry.

  • Pure Essentials Specialist Corp received its FDA License to Operate in 2020, and renewed in 2021. This year in Q1 of 2022, we launched the Standard Operating Procedures in alignment and accordance to FDA standards, that addresses and responds to any environmental risks or incidents that may arise. We documented this and formally in our personnel meetings and is included in our office manual available for all employees.

  • All documents are above board including financial reports that are submitted to government agencies. Since these are submitted online, there is transparency and accountability in our small enterprise.
