During the reporting year Anglesey Food has updated its Ethics Policy and anti- harassment policy to bring it more in line with international standards.

In close co-operation with the local UN office Anglesey Food has implemented the "Call Umida" initiative. All our Korzinka stores (around 90 at the moment) were made aware of this anti-harassment project and women can walk into any of our stores and tell our staff to Call Umida and receive the necessary protection.

At present we are rolling out an USAID program by Winrock International called "Safe Migration in Central Asia". The aim of this is to make all our staff and clients aware of the signs related to combating human trafficking. The agreement was reached one week ago, so we will need some time to implement this project.

Our shareholder, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), has a very detailed Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) which is rolled out under their guidance (with help from specialists) and accompanied by training for our staff.
We recently signed a Loan Agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) which also includes an ESAP, which is in accordance with the ESAP as proposed by EBRD, but also has some additional features.

Anglesey Food was the first company in Uzbekistan to sign the Anti-Corruption Charter. This is an initiative of the Uzbek government to reduce the corruption in the country
