    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that Titan International, Inc. reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption. This is our first Communication on Progress where we will provide an overview of the actions we have taken to integrate the Global Compact and its principles into our business. We also commit to sharing our progress with our stakeholders via our Corporate Sustainability Report, which is published on a biennial basis.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • • Ensure that Titan’s employees are provided safe, suitable, and sanitary work facilities.
    • Protected workers from workplace harassment, including physical, verbal, sexual, or psychological harassment, abuse, or threats.
    • Titan incorporated its global Human Rights Policy into its Supplier Code of Conduct, requiring third party suppliers to commit to compliance with the policy prior to onboarding. Titan is working with internal stakeholders to ensure all suppliers (new and current) commit to the updated Supplier Code of Conduct within the next few years.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • • Employees working in factory settings receive annual safety training.
    • Safety incidents tracked.
    • All employees receive annual trainings to prevent workplace harassment

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • • Ensure that Titan does not participate in any form of forced or bonded labor.
    • Titan’s Labor Policy states the right for collective bargaining.
    • Titan incorporated its global Labor Policy into its Supplier Code of Conduct, requiring third party suppliers to commit to compliance with the policy prior to onboarding. Titan is working with internal stakeholders to ensure all suppliers (new and current) commit to the updated Supplier Code of Conduct within the next few years.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • • Several of Titan’s facilities have unionized and the collective bargaining agreements between Titan and those facilities are regularly reviewed and negotiated.
    • Employees receive annual ethics training
    • Whistleblower hotline available to all employees and third parties

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • • Internal Audit will audit business units to ensure the Supplier Code of Conduct has been agreed to during a third party’s onboarding process.

Environment
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • • Titan revised its global Environmental policy to align with the Global Compact’s principles more closely.
    • Titan implemented a global Conflict Minerals Policy to further ensure our products are free from conflict minerals. Titan incorporated its global Conflict Minerals Policy into its Supplier Code of Conduct, requiring third party suppliers to commit to compliance with the policy prior to onboarding. Titan is working with internal stakeholders to ensure all suppliers (new and current) commit to the updated Supplier Code of Conduct within the next few years.
    • Titan is working with internal stakeholders in its North American Tire business to incorporate a sustainability focused product development assessment into its product development process. Upon implementation the assessment will be standardized and incorporated into the processes of Titan’s other business units.

  • • Internal stakeholders will assess the products developed in comparison to their pre-development sustainability checklist to determine of the completed products are more sustainable.

  • • Internal Audit will audit business units to ensure the Supplier Code of Conduct has been agreed to during a third party’s onboarding process.

Anti-Corruption
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of anti-corruption for the company (i.e. anti-corruption risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on anti-corruption.

  • • Titan ensures employees are aware of their obligations regarding preventing corrupt business practices.
    • Titan is working with internal stakeholders to standardize its existing third-party risk assessment processes. This includes standardizing due diligence screening methods across all global business units, incorporating standard anti-corruption language in all agreements, and ensuring that all third-party suppliers have committed to Titan’s revised Supplier Code of Conduct within the next few years.
    • Titan encourages employees and third parties to report instances of suspected corruption or other unethical business practices through the company’s hotline reporting system.
