  • I am pleased to confirm that RiverRecycle reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment, and Anti-Corruption. In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture, and daily operations. We also commit to sharing this information with our stakeholders using our primary communication channels.

Human Rights

  • Our code of conduct defines RiverRecycle’s commitment to recognising and respecting human rights. A misalignment with our code of conduct from our partners is a reason for the termination of the contract.

  • All our sites are provided with:
    • Shelter for the workers to protect them from exposure to the elements.
    • Separate toilets and changing rooms.
    • Security structures in compliance with the local law to prevent or respond to incidents.
    • Security system to prevent unauthorized perso-nal access to the facilities.
    • Hand soaps, disinfectants, and sanitizers for personal hygiene at the sites.

    Every employee is provided:
    • The training regarding security and processes protecting workers from workplace harassment, including physical, verbal, sexual or psychologi-cal harassment, abuse or threats.
    • The necessary safety gear and the education required for the safe use of the machinery.

Labour

Environment

  • The goal of RiverRecycle is to clean the environment with our proprietary technology. From the 1st January 2022 – to 31st March 2022, at our sites on the Citarum and Mithi rivers, we have collected 103435.9 kg of waste. About 14% of this waste is composed of plas-tic. Moreover, RiverRecycle commits to adopting a solid framework regarding Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Protection, Security, and Fair Business operation practices. Our resolutions include the commitment not to bring damage to the environment in the spaces managed by RiverRecycle. We require our associates such as contractors, agents, consultants, or business partners to do the same when representing or acting in collaboration with RiverRecycle.

  • Implementation

  • RiverRecycle has set up a committee to manage, monitor, and handle any misconduct of the Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality policies (HSSEQ). The committee organizes periodical meetings to discuss and evaluate the company’s and its subsidiaries’ line of action following the Code of Conduct and the health and safety proto-cols. It is the responsibility of the committee to identify and assess environmental and social risks associated with new and emerging internal and external issues. Countermeasures and moni-toring plans against identified risks are imple-mented and evaluated regularly for prompt inter-ventions and actions. Additionally, the committee holds emergency board meetings upon receiving any report of misalignment directly and electro-nically on a dedicated channel.
    • RiverRecycle seeks to cooperate with companies that have formally adopted the HSSEQ of equal or higher standards. Moreover, we set and integrate a high standard of environment-related require-ments such as emissions, energy assumptions, and alike for our suppliers, especially techno-logy suppliers, to minimize the environmental impacts of our projects.
    • RiverRecycle strives to use renewable energy in any possible process, and our proprietary river cleaning technology operates on solar power or water wheels.
    • RiverRecycle conducts Environmental Impact Assessment for all projects that we facilitate to assure compliance with local and international Environmental Protection Act.

Anti-Corruption
