    As a registered Civil Society Organization (CSO) with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, I am pleased to confirm that The Scott Family Foundation Intl. reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture, and daily operations. We also commit to sharing this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • We support and enforce the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in all of our operations.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Our managers, executives, and HR consultants in our office are trained regularly on the importance of employee engagement.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • Our anonymous employee satisfaction survey, sent twice a year, ensures a voice for every employee directly to the Office of the President. These results are analyzed and are instrumental in accessing our HR policies and procedures annually.

Labour

  • Our employee handbook very clearly communicates to our employees their rights and responsibilities, along with mechanisms and “whistleblower” provisions to ensure every single employee has a voice.

  • Our formal “Open Door Policy” ensures that every employee has a voice and method for communicating concerns.

  • Our Executive Team regularly reviews the results of our Employee Satisfaction survey, as well as any issues raised through our Open-Door Policy.

Environment

  • The Scott Family, as a part of their holdings, owns a Renewable Energy Advisory and Brokerage firm, Green Energy Solutions (“GES). The Scott Family Foundation Intl. works hand and hand with GES to increase the education of individuals and businesses as it relates to the importance of using renewable energy and reducing their carbon footprint. The Scott Family Foundation Intl. also develops initiatives and deploys its resources to help individuals and business reduce their carbon footprint in cost-effective ways.

  • Implementation

  • We sponsor and participate in community development events, panels and discussions, as well, partner with other community organizations where we discuss with the community, at a grassroots level, the importance of reducing carbon emissions and outline simple strategies that they can employ to begin to reduce their carbon footprint immediately.

  • We have successfully been able to help hundreds of individuals and companies successfully reduce their carbon footprint and use environmentally friendly sources of energy.

Anti-Corruption

  • Description of the relevance of anti-corruption for the company (i.e. anti-corruption risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on anti-corruption.

  • We fully support the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement anti-corruption policies, address anti-corruption risks and respond to incidents.

  • Details on our Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policies and Procedures are in full alignment with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and are available in our employee handbook and publicly on our website*.

    *Currently our website is being redeveloped and updated, as such, our Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption policy is not available on our website as it normally is.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • Any violations of the FCPA are immediately escalated to the Office of the President. To date, we have no such incidents.
