    I am please to confirm that Maliwun Shwe Phyu Trading Co., Ltd. reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anit-Corruption.
    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit share this information with our stakeholders using primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • • Human Resources policy, manual and code of conduct on respecting Human Rights and preventing potential abuses.
    • Assessment of needs and expectation of interested parties (Stakeholders).
    • Assessment of Human Rights related risks and impact in industry sector and country of operation.
    • All employees are encouraged to present any issues on human right relating to their jobs via defined communication channel in an ethical manner.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • • Provide open channel for communications. All employees can discuss any issues to their supervisor and manager as necessary.
    • Allocation of responsibilities for the protection of human rights within our organization.

  • • Daily tool box meeting is held to discuss any issues and provide awareness about code of conduct.
    • Arrange to track and monitor any issues or complaints about human rights. There were no issues or complaint.
    • Training about 10 principles and human rights are planned to conduct once per year.

Labour

  • • Refer Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: Implementing the United Nations ‘Protect, Respect and Remedy’ Framework
    • Equal chance of employment opportunities between ethnics, religions, genders and ages where possible.
    • Create local employment opportunities which allows the workers to live together with their family.
    • Established Human Resources policy, manual, job descriptions and announcement letter (office order) which clearly state that the rights and responsibilities, their compensation and benefits, the rules and regulations the workers needs to follow.
    • To construct and provide new buildings for workers and their family.
    • To provide new water reservoir and water supply system for the usage of workers and their family.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • • Daily tool box meeting is held to discuss any issues and provide awareness about code of conduct, rights, role and responsibilities.
    • Provide awareness about occupational health and safety environment.
    • Recruitment, allocation of responsibilities and assign jobs depend on their capability without discrimination and harassment.
    • Create good working environment and develop good team spirit among workers.
    • Building for workers and their family are provided.
    • Electricity supply and water supply are provided on a daily basis.
    • Funded and donated for Primary School development, playground, stationery supply, hiring school teachers and arrange ferry to develop the education of the children of the workers.

  • • There was no legal case, investigation and fines due to violation of labour rights.
    • Our organization has 31% women and 69% men. We give the chance to women if the jobs are appropriate for women also.
    • External audit for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 are conducted once per year.

Environment

  • • Our Environmental Policy describes our commitment about compliance of applicable environmental law, rules and regulations, consider and control each stage of product life-cycle to reduce environmental impact, determine the requirements of interested parties, ensure environmental conservation.
    • Determine environmental aspects and impact to control and monitor significant environmental aspects.
    • Determine environmental risks and opportunities and take appropriate actions.
    • Establish environmental management system procedures and manual including green procurement and guidelines for external providers.
    • Ensure to meet environmental management system objectives.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • • Our organization have been applied and certified ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system standard.
    • Provide environmental management system training and awareness to our management and employees.
    • Initiatives and programs for waste water treatment and consumption of resources for our rubber production. Developed environmental friendly technologies.
    • Provide signage about environmental guidelines and waste management.
    • ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system audit is conducted once per year.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • • Resources utilization and energy consumption such as Electricity consumption, Fuel consumption, water usage, paper usage, firewood usage is monitored and controlled.
    • Reporting system of environmental incidents and accidents have been established. There were no environmental incidents.
    • Emergency responses procedures are established and provided awareness to employees.
    • There was no violation of environmental law, rules and regulation.
    • Surveillance Audit for ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system had been completed successfully during July 2020.

Anti-Corruption

  • • Establish anti-corruption policy to work against all the forms of corruption, bribery and extortion.
    • We encourage our employees to act in ethical manner and to consider public interest.

  • • Determine about anti-corruption risk and control actions.
    • We established guideline about offering or accepting of gifts, hospitality and expenses.

  • • There was no incidence or ethical breaches.
    • There was no bribery, corruption and extortion within our organization.
