    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that Promotto Spices & Spices Chef reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Human rights is highly relevant for the company. In order to ensure it, company has taken the following steps:
    - Ingredients are purchased mainly from Fairtrade certified organizations. Fairtrade system has extensive rules to prevent possibilities of social, environtmental, gender, and economical violations in supply-chain.
    - Company has explicitly expressed commitments in principles of UN Global Company.
    - Within the company, all staff work as a team. We are a small team.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • - Company's contact informtion is public. Company's commitments are public information.Directly or indirectly if anyone finds any grievances, it is never difficult to contact us. We work closely with organizations, nationally and internationally, who have explicit platforms for communicating any grievances.
    - Company discusses with it's employees during training sessions importance of human rights. Company also provides external training for employees where human rights is also covered.
    - Company does take consultations with certification bodies like FLOCERT.
    - Manangement of responsibilities related to human rights is mainly are alloted to the Managing Director and Board Memebers.
    - Human rights policies and procedures of the company is in agreement with UN Global Compact principles.

  • Within the reporting period, company didn't have to deal with any incidents related to human rights.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • - Company uses nationally approved employment agreements.
    - Company doesn't prevent employee's freedom of association. Company's employment contract itself have reference to relevant collective bargaining agreements provided by specific industry.
    - In order to ensure that the suppliers adhere to Global compact labour practises, company works exclusively with Fairtrade certified suppliers.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • - As part of the job contact, all staff have occupational health insurance, accidental insurance, besides contribution to pension and unemployment benefits. These are ensured also by the law.
    - Company always consults with employees mechanisms where their wellbeing gets attention.
    - Company's staffs are members of relevant labour unions. It is encouraged by company itself.

  • - We are a SME with a small number of employees. Right now gender proportion in the company is about 50:50 male-female.
    - Company follows national labour laws, which are comparable with Global Company Labour principles. Company has access to nuetral external advisors, which are mainly public funded. In the case of any investigations, we invite them to guide us.
    - Company is still in the development stage. We conduct regular reviews of progresses made.
    - External audits are done by Fairtrade certification body FLOCERT.

Environment

  • - Company is specialised in organic food.
    - Company follows written commitments of organic certification, which is nationally and internationally valid.
    - Company buys ingredients specifically from organic certified suppliers.
    - Organic and Fairtrade certification of the company is in agreement with Global Company environtmental principles.

  • Implementation

  • - Company explains to staff our commitments to environmenal principles.
    - Company uses renewable bioplastic materials for packaing.
    - Company has discussed with suppliers possibility to avail energy made from recylced materails.
    - Company's management takes responsibilties for environmental protection within the business activities.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • - Company prevents incidents activities which are environmentally hazardous. If any incidents occur, there are regulations to follow.
    - We did not have any incidents under investigation during the reporting period.

Anti-Corruption

  • - Anti-corruption practices are very relevant for the company and business sector as a whole.
    - Company follows national anti-corruption practises which are in agreemenet with UN Convention Against Corruption.

  • - Company is committed to anti-corruption practises. It follows industry guidelines, regulations, as well as, commitments given to certification bodies.
    - Should any stakeholders have grievances we are easy to be reached.

  • - During the reporting period, there was no incidents involving anti-corruption.
    - To be aware of the anti-corruption regulations, company takes part in industry specific trainings and discussions.
