The scope of activity of Ecopack Bulgaria is closely related with environmental protection. Our major goals are:
Meeting the targets on recovery and recycling in compliance with the national legislation and EU Directives in the sphere of environment protection and waste management;
Further development and improvement of the established systems for collection, recycling and recovery of the packaging waste and enlarging their territorial scope, thus providing for the highest level of environmental protection and better living conditions for the Bulgarian citizens;
Provision of public support for the separate collection and recovery of packaging waste and actual involvement of the population in the systems
The Company is certified under ISO 9001 and ISO 14 001.
Concerning the information and educational campaigns targeted at citizens for promotion of the separate collection and forming of new environmental habits of the society our goals are to provoke the people to collect separately their packaging waste, to again put the focus on the three-color containers systems, sorting activities and the recycling processes, to inform on the benefits of the separate collection and recycling for the preservation of environment and natural resources.
Concerning the Company internal policy, there are procedures for energy saving, used is only recycled paper and forthcoming is the introduction of eco drive program

ECOPACK BULGARIA – Information & education Initiatives
I eat separately ! Feed me ! –is part of the company's efforts to promote responsible attitudes towards the environment and particularly the separate waste collection of packaging among children. Motivating children and their parents to separate in a modern and easy way. CREATE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS – each recycle bin is a memorable animated character; Every color container possess its own recognizable face and slogan:
green container "I eat glass"
yellow container "I eat plastic and metal"
blue container "I eat paper"
The story is about 3 new pets – Hartoyad, Stuckloyad and Plastoyada, living in the park.
The project started in 2015, 6 municipalities in Bulgaria had the possibility the color bins near the parks to be rebranding with new faces of 3 new pets, special puppet show on wheels was performing with the story of these cute animals which learns about the separate collection and its benefits. Each of the children visited the puppet show of Ecopack, receives a gift - comics book for three characters and a magnet with their faces. 3 000 Comics desiminated with the story of three characters told in pictures on the script of the play. Magnets with the vision and name of the campaign, 2 520 children participated. On line campaign –
Facebook Story telling – 5 post – reached 86 162 people; az-jenata.bg и az-deteto.bg - 61 133Ecopack Bulgaria published a second part of special book, targeted at children from 1 to 4-th grade. The book introduced the three heroes of recycling: Harti (Paper) Plastika (Plastic) and Stuk (Glass) and the Terrible Garbage who tell the tale of separate collection and recycling, what is a packaging and what is its purpose, how packaging can be recycled and why it's useful and what kids can do themselves of waste materials.
We encouraged the teachers to organize the eco class on regular basis in order to involve as much as possible children. In order to get feedback from the schools, Ecopack is organizing different competitions and contests with prizes for schools on how they organized their eco class – pictures, signed commitments to separate the waste, etc. The newest pilot project implemented in the period December 2013 –January 2014 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria is called “Become an Eco Hero”. At the time project covered over 90 000 students (1 to 8 grade) and involved development of sub site with interactive game with questions on separate collection and environmental protection. 37 297 - disseminated informational brochures in 97 schools;11 684 – families participated the game; 9 multimedia projectors for the most active school in every city; 90 special prizes for children and families,450 children books. „Club Eco Hero“- online game for all children during the vacation with questions about environmental protection.
Eco Labyrinth – unique facility for fun and learning -11 rooms,11 questions, 11 right answers, leading to the way out. Everybody can join from 6 to 106 years old.
For 1 month 8 cities – Vratsa, Montana, Kjustendil, Dupnica, Pazardjik, Peshtera, Pernik and Botevgrad
Results: 90 schools, 3367 kids, 755 adults; 5 050 collected UBC; 8234 awarded prizes;Let’s clean Bulgaria 10 of May, 2015 - camping as a part of global campaign “Let’s Clean Up Europe!” which take place on 8th – 10th May 2015 across Europe. Every year the EWWR (European Week for Waste Reduction) coordinates a Europe-wide annual clean-up day.
“Let’s Clean Up Europe!” aims to involve and reach as many citizens as possible in the fight against litter. By being part of “Let’s Clean Up Europe!” participants will have the opportunity to:
•Help clean up their local environment;
•See how much waste is being dumped in their neighbourhood;
•Share ideas about the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
This action provides a unique opportunity to raise citizen’s awareness on the litter problem and to help changing people’s behaviour. For 2015 Ecopack provided over 37 000 brochours, 32 000 bags and 38 000 gloves to 73 municipalities.
Green ACTIVIST ANNUAL MUNICIPALITY Award! - The competition among municipalities focus on reducing, recycling and reusing waste materials. Objectives: To motivate and actively promote green behavior of municipalities and their citizens.Strengthen and develop active public participation in the selective collection and recycling. To educate and inform about the benefits of selective collection and recycling of waste. To encourage the efforts of the municipality, citizens and society for a greener Bulgaria.
Prizes finance a green and sustainable projects with social importance and developing the green image of the municipality.
