    I am pleased to confirm that YATEKS A.S. reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Yateks commits to influence all his stakeholders to respect 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Based on our commitment to prevent human rights violations;
    - Suggestion boxes have been installed in all locations.
    - Refresher trainings of employees on human rights have been organized to raise their awareness.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • Over the last year no human rights problem have been reported by the employees (ref. suggestion boxes, management review meetings). Our company have been audited by a third party according to 10 principles of Global Compact, and our score was 77% (over 100%) for the principles 1 and 2.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • Yateks commits to fulfil four fundemental principles and rights of workers mentioned in the International Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundemental Principles and Rights at Work.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • Based on our commitment to fulfil fundemental principles and rights of workers;
    - Notice boards containing labour rights have been installed in all locations to raise the awareness of the employees.
    - Contracted doctor gives medical service during all working hours.
    - Assesment of labour related risks by contracted Safety Officer.
    - Full compliance with the revised "Turkish Occupational Health and Safety Law" (Law no.6331, dated 30 June 2012).

  • Our company have been audited by a third party according to 10 principles of Global Compact, and our score was 74% (over 100%) for the principles 3,4,5 and 6.

    Over the last year;
    - There is no case of child labour
    - There is no case of forced labour
    - There is no serious labour accident
    - There is no sanction for non-compliance with Turkish Occupational Health and Safety Law

Environment

  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • Yateks is committed to environmental protection and sustainable development objectives. Encouraging all our stakeholders to pursue environmental protection and pollution prevention through our lending programs, we will integrate and implement environmental considerations into all aspects of our operations and business decisions.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • Based on our commitment to fulfil environmental responsabilities;
    - Notice boards containing environmental issues have been installed in all locations to raise the awareness of the employees.
    - Refresher trainings of employees on our environmental policy have been organized, twice per year.
    - Contracted environmental officer works in place to follow-up legal duties against Environmental Ministry.

  • Our company have been audited by a third party according to 10 principles of Global Compact, and our score was 73% (over 100%) for the principles 7,8 and 9.

    Over the last year;
    - We produced 7.440 m3 of waste water (7% less than previous year)
    - We consumed 100.338 kW of electricity (3% less than previous year)
    - We delivered to recycling company 6.950 kg of corrugated cardboard (12% more than previous year)

Anti-Corruption

  • Yateks is committed to conducting its business with honesty and integrity and in compliance with
    the laws. This includes compliance with all laws prohibiting improper payments or inducements to any person, including public
    officials.

  • Yateks' anti-corruption policy covers the following;

    - Bribes, kickbacks or other corrupt payments
    - Facilitation payments
    - Relationships with third parties

    This Policy applies to all employees, officers and directors of Yateks.
