  • To our stakeholders,

    I am pleased to confirm FlexLink’s continued support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

    In this Communication on Progress report, we describe our position and actions to improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • FlexLink actively supports the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which is also clearly stated in policies and our Code of Conduct. We are committed to ensuring that all our employees are treated fairly and with respect and support the diversity of our organization.

    In the coming year we will work further with our suppliers with the Suppliers handbook as a guiding document which is including the application of our Code of Conduct, also for the suppliers. We have a multisite certification according OHSAS 18001.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • All units in FlexLink are regularly audited in order to safeguard the local application of the certified standards and company policies.
    We regularly conduct employee engagement surveys to monitor and identify the status and problem areas in the organisation.

  • In the past year FlexLink has not been subject to any investigations, legal cases or incidents involving Human Rights violations. We submit KPIs to our owners on employee engagement and safety.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • As mentioned in the FlexLink Code of Conduct, we do not make business with any organisation who uses forced or child labour.

    All FlexLink employees are issued with a contract of employment which clearly states their terms and conditions including pay rates, overtime pay arrangements and pension rights. The FlexLink Induction program, which is the introduction to all new employees, includes information on standard terms and conditions of employment, company benefits and company rules.

  • FlexLink consults with co-workers on a continuous basis and and each year we hold a Performance Review program where each co-worker and the respective manager attends and evaluates the performance, the cooperation and working climate and the development plans.
    Each year, we have elect the ‘Employee of the year’ to reward the employee(s) who has done outstanding achievements during the year and who is “living” our vision and our Credo in an inspirational way. In addition, we reward employees (individuals and groups) the Innovation Award and the Sustainability Award.

  • FlexLink works in the area of industrial engineering which is a male dominated area and our approach is to encourage and promote a balanced composition of the work force with regards sex and ethnical background dominated wherever possible. This is based in our company policies and supported by guidelines and procedures.

    On a regular basis, Employee Engagement Surveys are conducted in the Group where the working climate is measured on a department, company, division and Group level. The results are analyzed and improvement actions developed together with the employees. The survey is made anonymously.

    FlexLink has not been involved in any investigations, legal cases or other relevant events related to the contravention of the Global Compact Labour principles.

Environment

  • FlexLink has a Sustainability Program and an Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.

    We participate on a regular basis on the WWF Earth Hour event and the UN Cool Initiative.

    Our environmental program includes policies and guidelines on efficient use of energy, business travels, company cars, office paper consumption and the recycling of aluminium and stainless steel waste.

  • The environmental program is in place and we regularly measure and follow up the results.

    We have a Group Sustainability Manager; Cristina Garzelli, responsible for all Sustainability matters on a Group level. In addition, we have local Sustainability Coordinators.

  • FlexLink has a multisite certification according to ISO 14001 and make regular measuring of the CO2 impact. FlexLink has not had any environmental incidents within the last year or in the previous years, and has not been subject to any statutory notices or prosecutions.

    We have KPIs on CO2 emissions, energy consumption and office paper consumption and the recycling of aluminium and stainless steel waste.

    We do have procedures in our Operations Management System (OMS) covering the handling of chemical substances that are harmful to people and the environment, and the disposal of waste.

Anti-Corruption

  • FlexLink has general guidelines against corruption in the Code of Conduct which is also included in the Suppliers handbook and the Supplier Evaluation procedure.

  • Description of concrete actions to implement anti-corruption policies, address anti-corruption risks and respond to incidents.

  • FlexLink are in the middle of the development of an Anti-corruption Program including policies, guidelines, training, a whistle blowing function, and the related procedures to manage anti-corruption. There is a Group Management Team commitment to the establishment of the program.

    The target is to have the Anti-Corruption Program in place during the first half of 2013.

  • FlexLink has not been involved in any legal cases, rulings or other events related to corruption and bribery.

    In the regular internal and external financial audits, the issues related to corruption and bribery are covered.
