    Dear Your Excellency,

I am pleased to confirm that Diamond Mercury Group of Companies reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption. I have also presented this to our Company's members of Board of Directors, and the result is that they had unanimously agreed to join the UNGC in all of her activities. Now, Myanmar as an emerging Democracy country faces enormous challenges to follow the principles especially in anti-corruption and Labour area as well as in Environmental issues. However, as the county shifts itself to a Market economy we are quickly changing our old practices to allow the new era to flourish with dignity. As an independently owned and operated company like DAMCO we have been able to maintain our operations with minimal challenges in those areas. However, we strongly believed that achieving these goals can be attainable as a Nation by setting our company goals higher so that other companies will follow us in the future.

    Sincerely yours,

    Sein Lwin
    Chairman
Diamond Mercury Group of Companies (DAMCO)
