    Mobilink focuses itself on creating a positive change in the communities that are directly part of this ecosystem and our social investments are as critical to us as our business investments. Corporate citizenship at Mobilink is built around the pledge to bridge the digital divide as a result of geographical distances, social inhibitions, cultural obstructions and economic marginalization. Our corporate citizenship ethos believes in empowering the youth of today so that they can become the engaged and successful entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Accordingly we proactively offer superior and affordable connectivity services to the young and eager in order for them to access and benefit from the information and communications technology. Mobilink continues to provide and improve ICT education at deserving educational institutions. We plan to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem by investing directly in digital startups and mobile based-businesses. In line with VimpelCom’s ‘Make Your Mark Program’, Mobilink is committed to reaching out to budding entrepreneurs across the country with the aim to empower them and to enable them to take control of their future. Our programs will work simultaneously with women and men, and with students and entrepreneurs across urban and rural Pakistan.

    The Mobilink Foundation, since its inception in 2007, has been the flag carrier of all social investments the company has made in the fields of education, health, environment and humanitarian assistance. The Foundation also comprises our torchbearers; Mobilink’s employee volunteers, who are determined to go above and beyond the call of duty in ensuring that they continue to make a better every day for all its communities.

    2014 was a remarkable year for corporate responsibility at Mobilink and witnessed several achievements and accomplishments. Earlier durimg the year, Mobilink Foundation became the country’s first and only business operated NGO to receive a grant award for its SMS based Literacy Program from a European donor agency. Mobilink Foundation was also the recipient of the Ethical Corporation Award 2014 which was jointly shared by Mobilink and VimpleCom. We were invited by the Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to speak at the Global Education Forum where Mobilink showcased its mLiteracy program in front of an audience comprising of international dignitaries, Nobel laureates and educational experts.

    Mobilink commits itself to being the leader in Corporate Responsibility initiatives and focuses its efforts on developing an internal culture which encourages ownership, transparency, accountability and ethics in our business practices.Being a part of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) has helped Mobilink in aligning our CR focus with UNGC’s initiative in order to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation.

Labour

    • Mobilink doesn’t employ anyone under the age of 18. All employees whether directly or indirectly employed must bear National Identity Cards. Mobilink ensure the same compliance in its entire supply chain.
    • There is no forced labor or compulsion in any work stream in Mobilink. All employees are chosen strictly on merit and can leave on personal discretion. The work philosophy encourages employees that are happy and satisfied with their work environment and conditions

  • ENVIRONMENT
    Environment at Mobilink is mandated as one of the core ingredients of Corporate Responsibility. As a responsible corporate citizen, Mobilink has launched a number of projects focused on stimulating environmental awareness, preserving nature and assuring sustainable development. The leadership believes that the well-being of our communities and planet is imperative for the long term viability of our business.
    Mobilink has adopted a three pronged approach, in pursuit of environmental sustainability and conservation;
    1) Reduction of business carbon footprint by implementing environmental management system in office environment
    2) Recycling and reusing redundant organic and inorganic waste materials
    3)Introduction of alternative energy solutions and championing the adoption of eco-friendly practices within the organization
    Across all commercial and non-commercial value chains that comprise mobilink, environmental impact is very carefully monitored. Benchmarks, as defined by Environmental Management Sysem (EMS), are strictly followed including energy consumption, water usage and waste generation. Mobilink's oranizational ethics and practices are entered on the respect for environment and are circumspect of the value of resources for the future generations.
    During the year 2014 Mobilink became Pakistan's first and only operator to have been awarded with WWF's prestigious 'Green Office' awards. the award was given for successful implementation of Environmental Management System (EMS) in waves building (Regional office, Central)
    Mobilink's corporate responsibility and the HSE's team's efforts have helped to reduce the consumption of water and electricity and the production of solid waste. The facility's carbon blueprint was assessed to have been reduced by 35%, and its solid waste production decreased by 50%. Certification of Mobilink's Lahore facility was a result of a comprehensive audit conducted on 24th December, 2013 by WWF. Mobilink HQ in Islamabad has also been certified where the auditors noticed a remarkable reduction in carbon footprint.

Anti-Corruption

    The Board approved and stipulated Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) Policy outlines policies and procedures to support this commitment and ensures compliance with applicable anti-bribery and corruption laws in jurisdictions and in light of all applicable statutes. The ABC Policy sets forth minimum standards and is not intended to be a substitute for the substantive legal requirements of the applicable anti-bribery and corruption laws.
