    I am pleased to confirm that "Industrias Metalicas IMETAL" continues to reaffirm its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights

    The company’s commitment is the support and respect for the protection of human rights in all its aspects.

    This commitment is reflected in all our projects and written policies, disseminated both to customers and suppliers.

  • IMETAL is familiarised with International Human Rights Legislation and reaffirms its commitment to ensure that all contracts signed in the company are in compliance with such legislation. In addition, no Human Rights violations have occurred within the company or in projects

  • The company evaluates performance on analysis of reports.

    No Human Rights violations have occurred within the company and no human rights risks have been detected in the past. In addition, no Human Rights violations have been detected in projects related to the company’s professional activity.

Labour

  • IMETAL realises the importance of internal policies which achieve the long term goal of creating a sustainable working environment, and which rely on the importance of workers, the main company asset.

    The company endorses the four principles of the United Global Compact relating to labour rights and the social policy of the company tries to demonstrate it by enabling the company to achieve its targets while at the same time offering opportunities to its staff at all levels to develop and grow within the company.

  • Industrias Metalicas IMETAL SA continue to offer a employee development programme, by which employees can continue its training through a set of training courses in different areas of expertise.

Environment

  • IMETAL, within its activities of design and construction of steel structures, acquires on its own and environmental conscience the compromise to minimise the interaction of its daily activity with the environment.
    This compromise is shown with the adoption of an environmental policy in agreement to the respect of the environment which takes to implantation of acting guidelines in accordance with the requirements of the Management Community System and Environmental Audits (EMAS).

  • In relation to environmental issues, IMETAL is committed to the following:
    - Diffusion and application of IMETAL environmental policy

  • set in terms of environmental operation:
    - Minimisation in resources consumption through the improvement of production efficiency
    - Minimisation in waste production, discharge and emissions control
    - Optimisation of management of produced waste

    The last goal of our environmental behaviour is the continuous improvement to get a minimum interaction between our activity and the environment. We are aware of the one-to-one relationship between environmental quality and quality of life and we have therefore acquired this determined compromise to respect the environment.

Anti-Corruption

  • IMETAL fully endorses the commitment to the Anti-Corruption Principle:

    This commitment is followed within our own operations and our policies disseminated to customers and suppliers.
