Welcoming Global Compact Network Ireland to the UN Global Compact

On 28 November, the Global Compact Network Ireland officially launched in Dublin. The launch of the new Network marks a pivotal moment, as it connects Irish businesses to a global movement dedicated to advancing sustainable business practices and aiming to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Network Ireland offers Irish companies—both large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—tools, resources and a framework to create long-term value while contributing to global sustainability efforts.

The event, held at Dublin’s Exo Building, brought together business leaders, policymakers and sustainability advocates to drive action on the #SDGs. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions and breakout sessions, attendees explored how Irish businesses can lead in areas like gender equality, climate action, living wages, water resilience and sustainable finance.

The event set a clear vision: empowering Irish businesses to accelerate their impact and champion a sustainable future. 

The Forward Faster initiative served as a centrepiece for the launch, urging Irish businesses to accelerate progress in five critical areas: gender equality, climate action, living wages, water resilience and sustainable finance.

The breakout sessions at the Network Ireland launch sparked dynamic discussions on key sustainability challenges and opportunities.
