On 24 September 2024, the Leaders Summit brought together visionary executives and CEOs from across industries to discuss the future of sustainable business. Discussions highlighted the critical role that businesses play in addressing today’s pressing global challenges. Settings for speaker conversations varied in modality, including breakout sessions, speaker panels and out across the venue where stations like the Media Hub and the Action Hub fostered continuous dialogue.

Key themes ranged from living wages, artificial intelligence and gender equity, to broader discussions on how innovation and leadership in the private sector can drive meaningful progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Speakers emphasized the importance of businesses embracing responsibility, shifting mindsets and pursuing strategies that place equity, sustainability and collective action towards the forefront.

As we approach the halfway mark to the 2030 Agenda, the Leaders Summit offers an insight into the importance of accelerated action toward achieving the SDGs especially with collaboration across sectors—public, private and civil society— to ensure that the ambitious targets set have the opportunity to materialize.

In summary: Bold leadership and cross-sector collaboration are critical to success in order to achieve the SDGs.
