The Business Sector Contribution to the 2030 Agenda in Latin America

    The UN Global Compact, together with Global Compact Network Ecuador, is convening a high-level event to explore "The Business Sector Contribution to the 2030 Agenda in Latin America." Inviting representatives from Government, the United Nations, business, civil society, academia and Global Compact Local Networks from 15 Latin American countries, the event will highlight the potential of multi-sectoral collaboration to achieve the Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

    Global Compact Local Networks in the Latin American region play an important role in mobilizing responsible and sustainable business contributions to the implementation of national SDG Agendas, alongside other public and private stakeholders. Through this event, diverse stakeholders will meet to discuss challenges and opportunities to scaling up contributions to the 2030 Agenda from businesses in the region.

    The UN Global Compact and Global Compact Network Ecuador convene Local Networks from all Latin American to organize the Regional Event under the title "The Business Sector Contribution to the 2030 Agenda in Latin America" which makes part of our worldwide campaign "Making Global Goals Local Business". The event will take place at JW Marriott Hotel Quito, Quito, Ecuador from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm on 21 November 2017.

    We are playing a relevant role in mobilizing responsible and sustainable business contribution the implementation of national SDG Agendas with the rest of public and private stakeholders in the Latin America region. To share and lever the potential of this collaboration towards this shared Agenda we wish to convene high-level representatives from Governments, the United Nations, CEOs and representatives from 15 countries of the Global Compact Local Networks, as well as scholars and civil society representatives to discuss challenges and opportunities to scale up business contribution to the 2030 Agenda in the region.
