In its new second publication on the 10th principle against corruption, "Business Against Corruption – case stories and examples", the UN Global Compact in partnership with the UN Office on Drugs and Crimes brought together more than twenty-five civil society and company experts to give guidance and to share their own experiences on how to deal with difficult dilemma situations around corruption. The comprehensive compendium deals with areas such as implications of the UN Convention against Corruption, implementing anti-bribery programs, selecting agents and consultants, handling of facilitation payments and gifts, corruption in partnership projects, whistle-blowing and external reporting on corruption, working collectively against corruption and engaging in national and regional initiatives against corruption. To help companies deal with corruption in every aspect of their operations, the UN Global Compact, the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, and Transparency International have jointly published "Business Against Corruption - A Framework for Action". It is a first guide for companies preparing themselves to implement the objectives of the tenth principle and to deal with corruption in every aspect of their operations. It provides a road map to sources and tools which will assist in the practical application of policies designed to eliminate corruption. [December, 2005] |
