The primary objective of Global Compact LEAD is to support leading UN Global Compact participants in their efforts to achieve higher levels of corporate sustainability performance – as outlined by the Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability Leadership – and give them proper recognition for doing so.
Simultaneously, LEAD will serve the broader universe of UN Global Compact participants by providing inspiration and knowledge on corporate sustainability strategies and implementation. In this way, LEAD will be deeply integrated into existing local and global engagement opportunities as well as the wider institutional context of the Global Compact.
Further, Global Compact LEAD is expected to make a significant contribution to the work and aspirations of other UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes by inspiring action in support of broader UN goals and issues and brokering mutually beneficial relations for engagement and partnership between LEAD members and relevant UN entities.
