What is My COP deadline?

New participants must submit their first COP one year after joining the initiative. Existing participants are required to submit their COPs one year after the last submission. For example, if the last submission took place on 1 March 2013, the next COP will be due on 1 March 2014. Please note that all COPs are due at 23:00 UTC on the designated date.

How do I Extend my COP deadline?

There are two options to request a deadline modification:

  • Grace Period Letter (grants an additional 90 days); or
  • Adjustment Request (one-time only deferral of up to 11 months to adjust the reporting cycle)

Both options require participants to upload the respective letter to the Global Compact website before their COP deadline expires.

A Grace Period Letter extends the deadline 90 days. Unlike the Adjustment Request, it can be used more than once, as long as it is not used consecutively. A Grace Period letter explains that the company is requesting additional time to submit its COP and explains the reason behind the request. An Adjustment Request explains what the company's standard reporting cycles are, in order to align the COP submission deadline with them.
