Ask Stock Exchanges to Issue Voluntary Reporting Guidance

Investors involved in the Principles for Responsible Investment are inviting UN Global Compact companies to join them in calling on stock exchanges around the world to put in place voluntary guidance for issuers on how to report ESG information. This effort is motivated by stock exchanges that have asked to hear directly from investors and issuers regarding ESG integration and reporting into their markets.

This global campaign, led by Allianz Global Investors, was launched with the release of the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Model Reporting Guidance. This resource provides a foundation from which stock exchanges can customize guidance for their companies on reporting ESG information to investors.

The global campaign will

  1. Acknowledge exchanges that have guidance on reporting ESG information or that have recently committed to establishing guidance,
  2. Request that stock exchanges with no guidance on reporting ESG information, create their own by the end of 2016.

Companies, asset owners and managers are invited to sign the campaign’s letter to show that they support exchanges globally taking concrete steps to create more transparent and long-term markets.

For details or to join the campaign, email danielle.chesebrough@unpri.org. To sign, please send Danielle your name, title and company logo no later than 5 October.
